Peggy Reed age 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children when she was ready to go be with Jesus in Heaven.

Peggy was born in Yellville, Arkansas to Adam Alonzo and Ila Marie Robson and moved to Yates Center Kansas when she was in the 3rd grade. She was one of six sisters and two brothers; only her oldest sister, Nettie, and her youngest sister, Norma Jean, are still living.

Peggy was very active throughout her high school career, as she was a Yates Center Wildcat! She enjoyed participating in numerous clubs such as Pep Club, Drama, Glee Club, Student Council, Kayettes (leadership/teamwork/service club) and Yearbook. Her most memorable activity of all was being the Drum Major for the band, where she twirled her baton while leading the band during football games, parades, and activities. She was also a beautiful Homecoming Attendant and Queen for the Future Farmers of America Club.

Peggy married Carl Everett Reed in 1955, shortly after she graduated high school and built a beautiful family and a life filled with good friends, lots of traveling and a long, wonderful retirement with Carl.

Peggy had several jobs that she enjoyed such as working at Steiner’s ice cream shop in high school, the phone company, selling Avon and Tupperware, working at Brentwood Animal Hospital, but her greatest job was being a mother to her children, which she enjoyed beyond words.

She had many activities throughout the years that she loved like being a season ticket holder for 30 years of the Denver Broncos, a huge baseball fan of the Colorado Rockies, her bowling league on Sunday nights, country dancing, bridge club, sunbathing, water skiing, aerobics, golf, and of course enjoying a good gin martini!

She is survived by her three children; Dan Reed (Michelle) of Castle Rock, Colorado, Trish Talty (Vince) of Littleton, Colorado and Gordon Reed (Gina) of Broomfield, Colorado. She is also survived by six grandchildren; Nicholas Hahn (Angela), Curtis Hahn (Jessica), Tiffany Schaefer (Joshua), Melissa Leonavicius (Gytis), Jake Reed (Ashlee) and Ryan Reed plus nine great grandchildren; Kailey Hahn, Maliah Hahn, Jamison Hahn, Henry Schaefer, Aeson Reed, Aria Leonavicius, Hailey Schaefer, Jalen Hahn and Brecken Reed. She will be greatly missed by her family!

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Carl Everett Reed and her infant son, Steven Michael Reed, both of whom she was excited to reunite with in Heaven!
