Obituary of Gerald William Kintzle

Gerald William Kintzle, 82, of Denver, passed away peacefully on October 17th, 2023.

Jerry was born on October 15th, 1941 in Monticello, Iowa, the son of Irvin and Agnes (Meyer) Kintzle. Jerry was the second of 11 children and spent most of his time outside of school working on the family farm.  It was here where he learned the value of a dollar, the importance of family, and a tenacious work ethic that he carried with him all through his life. After high school he attended Marquette University and received his B.S. in Finance. Following graduation in 1963 he joined the US Navy as a Communications Officer stationed on the USS Bennington in the Pacific Corridor and also spent some time at NATO Headquarters in Naples, Italy. He moved to Denver following the Navy in 1967. On July 12th, 1969 he married Marsha (Elliott) Kintzle and had two daughters.  Jerry’s prosperous career in the finance world started with Pfizer Laboratories but he spent most of his career at Stern Brothers & Co as an Investment Banker and an Executive VP.  In 1994 he started his own business – Yampa Investments.

Jerry was a distinguished and honorable man. He was very generous and loved sharing his time and talents with people and organizations he loved and believed in. He loved to travel and share his love of history.  His curiosity took him all over the world. He enjoyed coffee most mornings and happy hours in the afternoon. His favorite pass times were golfing and bike riding.  He loved his traditions like Cheyenne Frontier days since 1968, family trips to Mexico, pheasant dinners/ Denver Bronco games, dinner club, and family gatherings in Iowa. He was so proud of his family and being raised on a farm. He always prioritized time with family, especially Jill, Ethan, Jenna, his special friend Lisa, and his siblings. He took great pride in being a father and grandfather; Jill, Ethan, & Jenna were celestial in his eyes. We will greatly miss his amazing and remarkable traits.   There is no doubt he loved life and lived a great one.

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Jill Cornine of Olathe, KS, and his grandchildren, Ethan and Jenna Cornine of Olathe, KS, Siblings:  Al (Ronda) Kintzle of McHenry, IL, Dale (Gail) Kintzle of Manchester, IA, Dave Kintzle(Colleen Holmes) of Earlville, IA, Jan (Steve) Mathews of Urbandale, IA, Rick (Anita) Kintzle of Cleveland, OH, Ruth Ann (Mike) Finnell, Kathy (Mark) Harris and Mark Kintzle (Jackie Newton) all of Earlville, IA.

Jerry was proceeded in death by his parents Irvin and Agnes Kintzle, his daughter Cindy Kintzle, a sister Jean Kennedy and a brother Mike Kintzle.
