Obituary of Jeremiah B Goodge
In Loving Memory: Jeremiah B. Goodge
July 2, 1960 - August 25, 2023
Jerry B. Goodge, a dedicated US Marine, a loving father to Brian Goodge and his wife Tess,
Joseph Goodge, Amie Goodge, and Jesse Goodge, and a mechanic with an enduring passion
for motors, peacefully departed this world on August 25, 2023, at the age of 63, due to
complications arising from a serious brain infection.
Born on July 2, 1960, in the southern reaches of Colorado, Jerry's journey began amidst the
enchanting landscapes and spirited communities of the region. Raised by his parents, Joseph
and LaNella Goodge, he embraced the values of honor, resilience, and a deep connection to the
land.
From an early age, Jerry's commitment to his country was evident through his selfless service
as a US Marine. He embodied the core values of duty, integrity, and sacrifice, leaving a lasting
mark on his fellow Marines and his loved ones.
Jerry's life took a significant turn when he moved to Upstate New York, where he built a home
and a family. It was in this new chapter that he became a father to his children—Brian, Joseph,
Amie, and Jesse. He guided them with unwavering love, celebrated their achievements, and
passed down the wisdom and experiences that helped shape their lives.
Jerry was also a proud grandfather to Emma and Brayden, through his son Brian. Their
presence brought him immense joy and added another layer of love to his life.
Late in life, Jerry's path led him back to Colorado, where he returned to be with his aging
parents. This was a testament to his deep love for family and his roots, as he chose to spend
his days in the embrace of the familiar land he cherished.
Jerry was known for his simplicity. He lived a life that celebrated the ordinary joys, finding
contentment in the everyday moments. He was a homebody, deriving great pleasure from the
company of his family and the comfort of his home. He often spent his time in a garage working
on anything with a motor whether it be cars, motorcycles, or boats. His ability to breathe life into
engines along with his passion and skill were truly admirable.
Jerry's final resting place will be the Fox Creek Cemetery, where he will find eternal peace
alongside his parents and faithful community. This sacred ground will forever hold the memory
of an adventurous man who lived his life to the fullest.
As we come together to celebrate Jerry's life and bid him farewell, we find solace in the
cherished memories he left behind.
Jerry, as you embark on your next journey, may you find tranquility under the open skies of
southern Colorado. Your legacy of love, loyalty, and craftsmanship will forever inspire those who
knew and loved you.
