Obituary of Margaret Evelyn Collins

Our dear mother Margaret (Maggie) Evelyn Collins sadly passed away on July 31, 2023, at the age of 91. 

She was born on May 8, 1932, by a home delivery to Velma Gregory and Fred Blunt.   She grew up in the Denver area and graduated from North High School in 1950.  She married Everett Russell Collins on December 11, 1952. Russ passed away on February 10, 2009. Maggie is survived by her five children: Debra Owens, Linda Semmer, Donna Amato, Russell Scott Collins, and William (Bill) Collins. She is also survived by her Grandkids: Brad Collins, Shawna Hatch, Keith Murphy, Paul Murphy, Dani Collins-Gottschalk, Derek Collins, and Larry Collins.  Maggie is the Great Grandmother of 8 great grandchildren: Zac Collins, Ashlie Collins, Reonna Hatch, McKayla Hatch, Payton Gottschalk, Jensen Gottschalk, Killian Vigil-Murphy, and Jack Collins. 

She was a wonderful mother, with tremendous strength and willpower. She was the matriarch of our family, the rock, who was always there for us. She was loved by many extended family members and friends. She will be greatly missed. 

Funeral Services will be held 11:30am, Monday, August 28, 2023 at Cameron United Methodist Church, 1600 S. Pearl Street, Denver, CO 80210.  Burial will be at 1:00pm, Monday, August 28, 2023, Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd, Denver, CO 80235.
