Obituary of Patty L. Ballard
Patty L. Ballard
Born: July 1, 1944 in Hartman, Colorado
Passed: July 16, 2023 in Windsor, Colorado
Patty Lula Ballard, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away at home on July 16, 2023. Patty was 79 years old and is survived by her daughters, Sarah (Bryan), Jolene (Eduardo), and Kim (Troy), her grandchildren Izzy, Brody, Shaian, Dakota, Brandy, Ty, Nathan, Mauria, and Sierra, and her sister Diane. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Ballard, her father, Randal Banta, her mother, Alta Banta, her brothers, Ralph Banta and Conley Banta, and her sister, Carol Jean Taylor.
Although dementia robbed Patty of some of her memories, she never forgot the names of her family, and she never forgot how to laugh. She was a person who loved to help others and wanted to be sure that her friends and family were doing well. Mealtime at her house was always accompanied by dessert, and she loved good food. Her favorite meal was cheeseburgers and ice cream.
Patty valued learning and giving back to others. She volunteered regularly at her daughters’ school library as well as a clothing donation center. When the library that her daughter Jolene worked at needed to be moved, Patty came in over the summer to help Jolene move it to another location.
Patty valued her faith and she enjoyed attending church, Bible studies, and reading her Bible and daily devotionals. Patty loved young children and worked at a daycare center before she retired. She enjoyed this job so much that when a daycare center was being built near her retirement community, she thought she might come out of retirement and apply for a job there!
Following a private service for family, Patty will be interred at Fort Logan with her husband Bill.
