Obituary of Lydia Perez
Lydia Perez passed away surrounded by family at her home in Brighton CO on June24,2023 at the age of 78. Lydia was born on Sept. 20th, 1944. She was born in Brighton, Co to Fidelia and Ray Quintana. Lydia was a hardworking loyal person who loved to sing karaoke and dance with her friends and family. She enjoyed going out dancing and could tear up the dance floor while making everyone laugh around her. Anyone who knew Lydia knew her love for flowers, being with her sisters and brothers, dancing the night away or just enjoying time with the grandkids. People also knew her as the little feisty one that was quick to say she would punch you out raise her little fist up if you forgot she was 4’11” AND A HALF don’t ever forget the half.
Lydia is survived by her husband of 52 years Alex Perez, daughters Rachel Quintana and Debbie Perez, two sons Michael and Gilbert Quintana, 11 grandchildren and 5 Great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and mother Fidelia and Ray Quintana, Brother Ralph Quintana, Sister Carol Martinez and grandson Anthony.
There will be a graveside funeral service at Elmwood cemetery 14800 Brighton Rd, Brighton, CO 80601 on Wednesday July 12, 2023, at 11am. Following the services, a reception will be held at the American Legion Post 22 11081 Irma Dr, Northglenn, CO 80233 at 1pm.
The family would like to give thanks to all the wonderful Denver hospice nurses who assisted Alex in caring for Lydia during the past year. All Veterans Funeral and Cremation for the comfort and assistance during this time. Flowers can be sent for the service / reception to the American Legion at 11081 Irma Dr. Northglenn, Co 80233. Anyone who would like to attend the reception and bring a dish to share is welcome.
