Obituary of Francis Mederic Durel

Colonel Francis Mederic "Med"  DUREL USA ( Retired)


Family and friends: Spouse, Anne Marie Durel, Children-Christopher, Angela, Laura, Lauren and Alexandra.

Eagle Scout, graduate of Spring Hill College, Masters degree University of Alabama in Chemistry, career military officer, Vietnam Vet, AirBorne, Chemical Core, taught chemistry at West Point Military Academy and US Naval Academy.  

After retirement, he moved to Evergreen, Colorado.  He worked at Rocky Flats decommissioning Plutonium Plant.  His passions were his spouse, Anne Marie, his children, 13 grandchildren, handball, skiing, hiking, and his cats.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church on July 24th, 2023 at 11:00 AM.  Interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery, July 24th, 2023 at 1:15 PM.  Full military honors to be rendered by the U.S. Army.
