Obituary of Kenneth Lee Spurlock
Kenneth Lee Spurlock was born June 6, 1935 to Arnold Lee Spurlock and Marjorie Reed Spurlock in South Bend, Indiana. He died unexpectedly at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, Colorado on May 18, 2023.
Kenny joined the Army on December 10,1956 and was a Korean War Veteran. In 1965 he moved to Los Angeles, California with his mother and younger sister Janet Marie(deceased). There they joined his older sister Dorothy (deceased), her husband and five children Katherine, Elizabeth, Jeanine, Bobby and Suzanne (deceased). While working at Stevens Store for Men in the FARMERS MARKET he met Janet Beth Bassist. They were married on April 1, 1966. About 3 years later they bought a home in Seal Beach, California. Kenny and his family lived in Seal Beach for 40 yrs. Later they became the parents of Marti-Jo and Jason Oliver Spurlock. Kenny leaves his wife Janet Beth of 57 years. In addition he leaves his 2 children, 3 nieces, 1 nephew, 7 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
Kenny and Janet B. retired and moved to Bullhead, Arizona. Recently Kenny and Janet B. moved to Broomfield, Colorado and share a home with Jason, Patty and their 3 children, Jonathan, Vivian and Willow. Jason has 4 children, Austin, Jonathan, Vivian, and Willow. Jason married Patricia on April 1, 2003. Austin gave Kenny 2 great grandchildren, Naomi and Killian.
He also leaves his daughter Marti-Jo Jackson and her 3 children Kasey, Kristin and Kurt Jackson.
A military service for Kenny will be held at 3:00pm, Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd, Denver, Colorado 80235. Please report to staging area A approximately 15 minutes prior to the scheduled service time by following these directions: Upon entering the North Gate on Sheridan, vehicles should take the first right onto Kansas Street. Vehicles should pull to the curb just prior to reaching the stop sign at the end of Kansas street, facing South in a single file line.
