Obituary of June Carolyn Werner

June Carolyn Palmer Werner, age 87, passed away on May 17, 2023 in Westcliffe, Colorado after her long, hard battle of heart problems, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

June was born on June 6, 1935 in San Antonio, Texas to father Blake Palmer and mother Josephene Fallon Palmer.

A loving, supportive house wife and mother; she adored her family. She was a wonderful, kind, sweet woman who strived to make all those around her happy. June always put on the best holiday celebrations and birthday parties and she always looked her best, always needing to leave the house with lipstick on. She was extremely proud of being a grandmother and was her favorite job throughout her life. 

She was always involved in her children and grandchildren's lives; volunteering at the girls schools and also volunteering as the local Girl Scout leader. June made the absolute best Halloween costumes each and every year and she always volunteered at the school haunted house. She was a devoted swimming, soccer and gymnastics mom and never missed a game or meet. She loved to tell long detailed stories and anyone who listened and heard June's laugh would laugh right along with her, she had such a contagious laugh and smile. She was a ferocious football fan. She also enjoyed knitting and was a fabulous cook. June would often share her recipies while talking on the phone with friends and family. She adored animals and babies, and was the cutest little thing doting on her big Rottweiler Beaujolais.

June is predeceased in death by her loving husband of 68 years Samuel "Sam" and her mom and dad.

She is survived by daughters Holly & Lisa, son-in-law Dave Schubert, granddaughter Madison Schubert, step-granddaughter Alex Schubert Stiger, grandson Paul Schubert and granddaughter-in-law Kirsten Schubert.
