Obituary of Joe Albino Barela
Joe “Albin” Albino Barela was born on April 3rd, 1938 to Roberto and Casilda Barela in Rock Springs, Wyoming.
He graduated from Gilpin County High School in 1956. Upon graduation he joined the Air Force. After serving four years, he met his beloved wife Patricia Ann Fresquez, whom he was married to for 59 years. They had three children, Steven, Stephanie and Stanley.
He worked at Rocky Flats until his retirement in 1992. Once he was retired he spent his days doing numerous volunteer work at nursing homes, jails, was an ambassador at the airport and as an ambassador of Our Lady of Fatima.
He was a God fearing man. He attended church every chance he got and prayed the rosary daily. He enjoyed going to the casinos and traveling with his wife Patricia.
On April 14th 2023, at his home in Brighton, Colorado surrounded by family he peacefully went to be with the Lord.
He is preceded in death by his parents Roberto and Casilda Barela, mother and father in law Rosendo and Antonia Fresquez, brothers Bob, Jim, Bernie and Albert Barela and his daughter Stephanie.
He is survived by his beloved wife Patricia, sons Steven Barela and Stanley (Stephanie) Barela, 10 grandchildren, Rhiannon (Kyle) Gancheff , Aaron (Alyssa) Barela, Crystal Barela, Heather (Jason) Bargas, Dustin (Erica) Barela, Antonia Barela, Holly (Alex) Holguin-Nuanez, Ryan Barela, Dylan Nuanez, Haley Barela, and 16 great grandchildren.
