I wonder how many random kids Uncle George saved from walking to school. I remember missing the bus after being told I need to wake up earlier by my mom (we all know how I hate mornings). I was scared to tell my mom because I had a friend sleepover on a school night which was never allowed, so my best friend Taylor and I started our 5 mile treck to school. About 1/4 of the way there a random school bus came to a screeching hault. The doors popped open and there he was, Uncle George was about to save the day. He scooped us up, gave us some candy and told us "Hurry up sit in the front seat, we can't all be late today". There would be times that I missed my own but but figured out where his stop was slightly down the street and going to a different school which just so happened to be in the same vicinity as my own. Let's be honest the walk from York to Skyview was much better than the walk from my house. From then on, Uncle George became my very own substitute bus driver. When I would miss my own bus I would run to the next stop, wait patiently like I was supposed to be there the entire time, give him a big hug (because little did he know he was saving my you know what from getting into trouble) and be thankful for his kind and giving soul. After talking to my cousin recently I found out that he would do just the same for her. Turns out I wasn't his favorite niece, he just had a huge heart
