Obituary of Charles Henry Oliver
Charles “Skip” Oliver passed away in Centennial, CO on the morning of May 18th, 2022.
He was 79 years old at his passing.
Skip was born to Charles and LaVeta of Montrose, CO in 1942. Skip spent most of his
childhood in Montrose, then finished high school in Aurora, Colorado. He joined
the Navy in 1960. After completing active duty, Skip returned to his beloved home
state of Colorado where he raised a family and spent the remaining years of his life.
Skip loved spending time outdoors with his family, whether it be boating, camping,
fishing, hunting, or motorcycle riding. He always looked forward to family reunions
or just entertaining neighbors on his porch. A consummate woodworker, Skip delighted
friends & family with his handmade gifts.
While an electrician by trade, Skip was also dedicated to public service. He served several
years as a Deputy Sheriff in Park County and spent many more years as a member of the
Navy Reserves. Skip finished his career as a civilian engineer at Buckley Air Force Base.
Skip is preceded in death by both parents, his wife of 37 years – Sharon, and his sisters
Wilma, Regina and Kennedine. He is survived by his sister Mary Jo, his four children,
Gregg, Debbie, Casey, and Lawrence, his stepson Bryan, and numerous grandchildren,
great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
