I was fortunate to meet Dan when I joined the PD in 1974. He was one of the senior officers who introduced himself to me and offered his advice as I "stumbled" along. He seemed to always have a smile on his face and was a true professional.

Condolences to the family. I worked with Dan early in my career at WPD. He did my pre-employment polygraph exam. A solid cop and a solid man. I am grateful for both his military and law enforcement service. RIP Dan.

I worked with Dan for a short time during the early days of my career at Westminster PD. Even though he was 15 years my senior at the department, he was always kind and generous with his time and knowledge.
He was one of the detectives that was always willing to answer a question of give advice. I hadn’t seen him in years except at an occasional retirement ceremony but his presence will be missed.

Dan was a good man and cop. He helped me a great deal when I was Hired in 1974. He had a way of explaining things that didn't make a new cop feel like an idiot. Seemed like he always had a smile and a laugh....God's speed Dan. You are missed.
Truly sorry to hear of Dan's passing. I was fortunate to have Dan as my FTO when came to WPD in 1971. Like Matt said, he was a mentor with great knowledge and insight. We have lost him, but he has left a BIG footprint. My thoughts and prayers are with Dan' s Family. Rest in Peace Brother
Dan was one of my mentors when I joined the Westminster Police Department in 1971. We worked many shifts together. He had the ability to stay calm in very tough situations. I was sad to see him leave the department for Greener pastures.
