A lifelong resident of Colorado, Bill passed away Sunday November 10th 2019. He was predeceased by Virginia, his wife of sixty two years and survived by three children: James W. (Linda) White, Elizabeth (Raymond Jump), Andrew G. (Amy) White, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Bill's professional career included thirty one years in the Jefferson County Schools as a teacher and administrator. He was a member of the original faculties of Drake Junior High School and Arvada West Senior High School. With degrees from Colorado State College of Education (U.N.C.), he was a member of Phi Delta Kappa honorary education fraternity, serviced as President of the Colorado Council for the Social Studies and was a recipient of Freedoms Foundation Classroom Teachers medal.
He was an adjunct instructor for Western State College, the University of Northern Colorado and the University of Colorado. Bill co-authored the Benziger-Glencoe-Macmillan "Inquiries into American History" serices of high school textbooks and retired as Coordinator of Social Studies for the Jefferson County Schools.
Memorial services will be held in Dows in August 2020. Contributions in Bill's name may be made to one's charity of choice.
