Obituary of William Zevin

William Chet Zevin of Denver, Colorado, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, July 5, 2016. He is survived by his beloved wife, Delaire N. Zevin, his loving sister, Lynn Paris and her husband, Jim, of College Station, Texas, his son, Jeremy L. Zevin, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, his much-loved “Uncle Fred” Frederick Masback, of Los Angeles, California, his niece and nephew, Jill and Peter Novick, of Los Angeles, California, his favorite uncle-in-law, Harold Goodcuff, and his cousins, Barbara Goodcuff Slifkin, Robert Goodcuff and Nancy Goodcuff Duffy of Florida. He also leaves his cherished cat, Dylan, who has been with him for 11 years ,including his trip to start a new life in the Philippines, where he met and married the love of his life, Del. “Bill” leaves behind many friends whose lives he has touched over his 68 years on this earth. He was an avid biker and we believe he left us shortly after taking his last bike ride Tuesday morning. Those that knew Bill, even for a short time, were struck by his zest for life, his enthusiasm, his incomparable sense of humor and his honesty and authenticity, as well as his intense passion for what he believed in – global issues that affect all of our lives. If we can learn anything from his all too short time, it would be to give each day, each thought, each action your best self! Billy was a loving and devoted husband to his wife Del. Del shares, “He had good sense of humor, passionate, very active and energetic in everything! For seven years we have been together and we enjoyed our life with lots of love, laughter, kindness, happiness, and care for each other. He had lots of plans that he wanted me to fulfill which included seeing his home country, going places that I have never been, and to meet his family and friends. In the short three months we have been in the U.S. he was able to open many doors to many new experiences! He wanted me be have a good future and to be strong. My memories will be treasured in my heart forever. How I miss his smile, hugs, and kisses. I will never forget the last day I saw him; how I wish I could get back that day. I miss him so much — I feel so alone and empty. I am grateful to have our friends, Kathy and Randy Will, to help me through this and also my sister-in-law, Lynn, so I will not be alone.
