Adelmo George Sanchez
November 4, 1945 ~ September 13, 2022
Adelmo George Sanchez, 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home on September 13, 2022.
George was married to Josephine on May 17, 1969 who shared 53 years of marriage. Together they had six daughters.
George was born in Taos, New Mexico on November 4, 1945, son of Antonio and Leonardita "Lala" Sanchez and was raised in Brighton, Colorado. George was the oldest of seven children.
At the very young age 20, George was drafted into the United States Marines and proudly served in the Vietnam War as a Corporal E4; May his service and sacrifice for our country forever be remembered.
George had a very unique love for each of his seven girls and all of his granchildren.
George's heart was the fullest when his family would go camping together or gather at their home for barbeques and for the holidays.
But, the most special times were those random visits to just say hello. Our dad had the most forgiving and generous heart for all.
Our dad will be greatly missed for his dignified smile, his warm loving hugs and his gentle demeanor; and especially the private conversations we shared with him that never went without saying a word to anyone ~ and mostly his "I Love You."
Dad always stood standing at the door to ensure we got to our car safely after our visits and waving until we drove off; his words always "be careful."
George is survived by Josephine; seven daughters, Julie (Jeff), Cheryl (Nash), Joline (David), Suzanne (Tim), Jennifer (Nate), Jaclyn (Asa) and Kim; Nineteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Proceeded in death by his parents Antonio & Leonardita Sanchez; sister, Elizabeth Ruth Lucero; and grandsons Justin Sanchez and Damien Abeyta.
